Rachel Carson I. S. 237 Magnet School for the Arts has a strong commitment to integrating technology into all aspects of the curriculum. Students are given thorough basic technology instruction to include competency with Microsoft Office and use of both PC and Mac platforms.

Through class projects and residencies students have created podcasts, PowerPoint presentations and newsletters. Students have also designed multimedia productions using Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash and iMovie. . Thanks to our Magnet School Grant, in addition to our Mac computer lab, new mobile laptop computer carts and classroom SMART Board technology have been acquired by the school.

Students have in the 6th grade were given the opportunity to work with knowledgeable photographers learning about digital photography and Photoshop through the ongoing residency with Magicbox inc. Students in the 7th grade were fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to work with a talented and inspiring musician from Incolloboration inc. creating their own digital music .
